June 20, 2008

Milwaukee, WI - Harley-Davidson and MDA are asking riders coming to Milwaukee for the company’s 105th Anniversary Celebration this summer to have their Ride Home make a difference by collecting donations and pledges. MDA has created a special Web site to help riders manage their fundraising online. In addition, Harley-Davidson and its dealers and riders have a whole variety of exciting fundraising activities in store for enthusiasts. More information is available at www.mdarides.org.

Harley-Davidson and MDA officially launched the105th Anniversary fundraising program this past weekend at the June 7th Southern Nevada Harley-Davidson Dealers Association Ride for Dreams. Harley-Davidson MDA Goodwill Ambassador Luke Christie joined MDA and Harley-Davidson representatives at the event to announce the program.

“On behalf of all of the families served by MDA, I’m grateful to Harley-Davidson for helping MDA through its anniversary celebration,” said Christie. “The 105th Anniversary is going to be a celebration like no other and I can’t wait for the fun!”

Top MDA fundraisers will have an opportunity to earn a spot in the Harley-Davidson Parade of MDA Heroes August 30 during the 105th Anniversary Celebration in Milwaukee, and will be eligible for other awards. Riders can qualify for a spot in the Parade of MDA Heroes by raising money for MDA at any Harley-Davidson event this summer including the Ride Home. Ride Home participants will ride from 105 starting points on 25 routes across the country to Milwaukee.

Harley-Davidson’s 105th Anniversary weekend in Milwaukee includes non-stop activities planned throughout the city. The events will be centered around the Milwaukee lakefront and feature one of the biggest music festivals of the summer, including Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Foo Fighters and Daughtry, activities at the Harley-Davidson Museum, and a special Harley-Davidson exhibit at Discovery World. The Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) will also celebrate its 25th Anniversary in style with an event at Miller Park.

Now through Labor Day weekend, 105th fundraising events for MDA include pin sales, online and live auctions, local rides and events across the country culminating with the Ride Home and anniversary event in Milwaukee, August 27-31.
